CGD’s Rodrigues takes over at Euronext Lisbon
European stock market operator Euronext has confirmed that Maria João Borges Carioca Rodrigues will take charge of its Lisbon business.
Rodrigues, who is expected to start work in April or May, joins from Portuguese state-owned bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) where she was head of marketing and IT.
She also becomes chief executive of Interbolsa, the Euronext business responsible for the central securities depository and settlement systems in Portugal.
Interbolsa completed its migration to TARGET2-Securities (T2S) this week, Europe's single platform for securities settlement in central bank money.
Rui Matos, Interbolsa’s temporary boss, will remain in charge until Rodrigues officially steps in. Isabel Ucha, current interim chief of Euronext Lisbon, will also stay onboard until her arrival.
Luis Laginha, head of Euronext Lisbon and Interbolsa, resigned in January.
