BNP Paribas Securities Services has unveiled plans to make its custody processes faster, simpler and more efficient for clients.

A new programme, dubbed “Augmented Custody”, will use a mixture of local expertise, latest technology and data management to give clients better access to international markets and enable them to manage their investments more efficiently.

It forms part of the firm’s efforts to improve client experience and will be rolled out in phases.

Some upgrades have already been delivered. Further enhancements will be made up until mid-2017.

Improvements will be made to different aspects of the custody chain including asset servicing, settlement, cash and collateral management.

“Custodians have a huge role to play in helping their clients maximise the efficiency of their operations and keep their competitive edge,” said Patrick Colle, general manager of BNP Paribas Securities Services.

“This is why we are making our custody processes better, faster and simpler. Our ambition is to enhance our core services thanks to the power of digital.”

Upgrades include faster corporate actions and income notifications for all events, extended instruction deadlines on voluntary events and an enhanced data management platform.
