SocGen announces head of prime services Japan
Societe Generale has appointed Ramir Cimafranca as the new head of its Prime Services division for Japan, which encompasses prime brokerage, clearing, global execution services and secured financing.
Cimafranca joined the bank from Newedge, a derivatives brokerage which SocGen took full ownership of in 2014 after Credit Agricole relinquished their half ownership.
SocGen finished integrating the Japanese operations of Newedge in May earlier this year.
Cimafranca’s new role will be Tokyo-based, and will require him to report to Koji Shimamoto, director and executive vice president of Societe Generale Securities Japan, and James Shekerdemian, the bank’s head of prime services for the Asia Pacific and global head of prime brokerage sales.
